V sobotu vyšla po mnoha měsících čekání další verze mého oblíbeného prostředí Xfce – 4.10. V Mageia 1 určitě nebude, v Mageia 2 nejspíše také ne – zatím nejsou připraveny repozitáře Backport. Já mám Xfce rád, proto jsem jej pro vás připravil.

Byl bych rad, kdybyste mi pripadne chyby hlasili sem, do tohoto vlakna (zvazte ovsem, nakolik je to chyba balicku a nakolik je to chyba uvnitr Xfce - uprimne nektere chyby proste resit nebudu a nemohu, neb jsou zapricineny chybou Xfce, nikoli balicku. O opravu se ovsem pokusim!)

Pri pokusu nainstalovat xfce4-xfapplet-plugin tento balicek je ale asi z tveho repozitare a ne z xfce-4.10
1 instalačních procesů selhalo
Při instalaci balíčků došlo k chybě:
soubor /usr/share/locale/et/LC_MESSAGES/libxfce4util.mo z instalace libxfce4util4-4.8.1-2.mga1.i586 koliduje se souborem z balíčku libxfce4util6-4.10.0-1pts1.i586

Jo a asi nefunguje Alt+F2 v nastaveni mam spusteni xfrun4 ktere kdyz pustim rucne funguje a v nastaveni klavesovych zkratek to mam takto nastaveno ale nespusti se. I kdyz zmenim treba na Alt+F3

Tak po restartu s alt+F2 neni problem jen ze se okno spusti pod aktivnimi okny, to je takove nesikovne. Jo a mam starou sadu ikon a ne tu ktera prisla s xfce 4.10 ale to mozna bude nejake nastaveni v session.

Musis odebrat: libxfce4util4-4.8.1-2.mga1.i586
mel bys jej mit v systemu. Jak dojdu domu tak prozkoumam, proc neni oznacen jako obsolete balikem libxfce4util6...
Spoustec> nastavit Xfce>Jemne ladeni session > zobrazovat nova okna nahore. Nevim presne kde, ale je to tam...

Jsem... mimon, promin. Trochu jsem to promazal.
Ten applet musim rebuildnout, aby byl vazany na novejsi verze knihoven. Myslel jsem, ze jsem udelal vsechny... ocividne jsem na jeden zapomnel. Vecer aktualizuj repozitare a zkus to nainstalovat jeste jednou. Melo by to pak byt. Ale musim se dostat domu.

Opraveno. Aktualizuj xfce repo a nasledne bys to mel byt s to nainstalovat.

I don't speak your language but i want to info that there is still conflicts with xfce 4.10 packages,libxfce4util4 conflict with package libxfce4util6 /usr/share/locale/et/LC_MESSAGES/libxfce4util.mo.

No problem. libxfce4util4 should be obsoleted by libxfce4util6.
What exactly you are trying to install (what package caused this conflict)? All Xfce4 packages should be updated and rebuilded. Can you post here more detailed info (terminal output would be the best in case, you are using CLI urpmi or screenshot in case of GUI gurpmi/drakrpm).

how did you perform update? I guess you are using Mageia 1 (not MGA2 -- I haven't test in on MGA2 yet)
1.) add correct repository:
urpmi.addmedia --update xfce http://petos.cz/rpm/mageia/1/xfce410/i586
2.) run
urpmi --auto-update
this is output from urpmi --auto-update?
Because it seems like not all of needed packages are avalaible. You can try to remove xfburn before update, it might cause some problems.

Yeah it's mageia 1 where i try to install it,and yes it's output of urpmi --auto-update,and that remove xfburn did nothing to that problem,i think it's not xfburn what is making this conflict,and it was virtualbox install so nothing breaks my computer

Can you try one more thing? Can you run
urpmi --auto-update -v-v
to obtain verbose description. We should be able to find what is the problem. Strange is, that noone else has such kind of problem (the bug in comment 2 was caused by forgotten package, that was not rebuilded).

I uploaded file when i try to upgrade xfce with verbose mode.

I can see the problem now -- it was caused by package xfswitch-plugin and by some old cached files. I fixed the package, so please now:
clean cache:
urpmi --cleanupdate repository:
urpmi.update xfceand perform another update. Now it should work...

Nope same conflicts with packages,i even try to remove/rebuild rpm database but nothing.

I find out that your libxfce4util6 is not supporting my language what is finnish (finland) so even if i get it working xfce will not going to work with my mother language and it will be in english language.

Chci se zeptat jestli se to projevuje jen na mém PC ale při prvním spuštění Thunaru (kliknu na ploše na ikonu složky) trvá toto spuštění strašně dlouho? cca 5 vteřin
Další spuštění jsou už pak OK

Well, I can see finnish locale files in /usr/share/locale/fi.
I'm not able to determine any problem. Can you perform the vebrose urpmi once more again?

Is that libxfce4util4 needed package with newest xfce ? here is depencies of that package,this may work if you rebuild those packages against libxfce4util6

and i tested that verbose mode but nothing new about it.

I have not been able to rebuild xfburn. Remove it from the system, update xfce repository and please, try again. I have updated all packages, you have listed above but xfburn... But as far as I know there is some bigger issue at xfburn...

Yeah i removed with rpm nodeps option that libxfceutil4 and xfburn and updated xfce and now it's working like a dream. :D

finally :D In case you're about upgrade to MGA2 I advise you to wait till I rebuild Xfce 4.10 to MGA2 -- because officially it will not be ported to MGA2, there will be still some meta-stage between Xfce 4.8 and 4.10.
As well I'm maintaining my own repository with various contents:

(when mga2 will be released as well http://petos.cz/rpms/mageia-2 will work). However the list of the software is not up-to-date, I'm working on some auto-generated list: I'm not lazy to spent a lot of hours on building, but I'm lazy to spent 2 minutes to update the list ;) ).

I get little bit different information about xfce mageia 2 will have official build of xfce 4.10 when it's released wally is building localy those xfce packages and when mga2 is released he is going to push them to backports.

now I have finaly started my buildsystem for Mageia 2, so now I'm already starting to rebuild "common" packages. After this Xfce building will be started. Don't worry, it will be soon :) I hope to... at least ;)

You don't need to build xfce 4.10 because it's pushed to mageia 2 core updates testing and when testing it's ready it will pushed to mageia 2 updates.
